Glass rotation. During this week we had the chance to experiment a new medium of glass. Whilst experiencing the workshop i was selected to blow glass as a demonstration. This was difficult but fun.
As part of the work shop we were allowed to make a paper weight, and made a swan which we unfortunately couldn’t keep.
Making the paper weight we added colour, twisting and swirling it to give a pattern in the middle. Rolling the rod the molten glass was attached to, to smooth it into shape using a selection of tools. This experience as challenging as you had to act quickly with the cooling glass. I found this unpredictable material fascinating. As I am a more hands on learner I particularly found this experience very interesting and fun. I really enjoyed the experience and would love to try it again.
